Is It Obligatory to Appear for Both the Papers of SSC JE Exam?

SSC JE exam is a technical exam conducted by SSC to appoint Junior Engineer in Civil, Electrical and Mechanical branches of Engineering. There are various government departments seeking the technocrats to accomplish their department functioning. SSC JE EXAM is conducted every year with an aim to shortlist highly qualified and skilled engineers in the respective fields. They are given a test comprising of two stages where Paper I comprises of three sections:
  • General Intelligence & Reasoning
  • General Awareness
  • General Engineering:
                   . Part-A (Civil Engineering & Structural Engineering)
                                                      Or
                   . Part-B (Electrical Engineering)   
                                                     Or
                   . Part-C (Mechanical Engineering)  

Third section is optional for the subsequent Engineering degree the candidate possesses.

SSC JE EXAM Paper II comprises of three parts. It is a written test of 300 marks for the duration of 2 hours on any of the following sections chosen by the respective candidate:

Part-A (Civil Engineering & Structural Engineering)
Part-B (Electrical Engineering)
Part-C (Mechanical Engineering)

Candidates require choosing any one of the parts which they desire to take during the exam. Basically, Paper-II of the SSC JE syllabus comprises of a detailed explanation of each of the topics under each part as discussed in the General Engineering section of Paper I. In paper I elementary questions are asked and in Paper II technical knowledge is given more emphasis. Hence Paper II is given in pen and paper mode to know their technical abilities of the respective streams. 

The work profile of Junior Engineers includes the work related to the technical difficulties faced by the respective department thus highly qualified and knowledgeable candidates are shortlisted for these posts.

Hence, it is compulsory to appear for both paper-I and -II of SSC JE exam because Paper I is qualifying and Paper II is stream based hence both are compulsory to attempt and qualify. It is highly recommended to take SSC JE COACHING  or elsewhere if you think you need more exposure in the technical subjects for the best outcomes of your hard work.
